It was a great honor for me to be part of WildPhotos 09 as a speaker in this fourth edition. On a professional level it was a real challenge and on a personal level deeply inspiring and refreshing. I would like to thank the producer Roz Kidman Cox for giving me the opportunity to share my work with others, WildScreen’s staff for the excellent organization, and all my colleagues and audience for the enriching experience!

ROZ KIDMAN COX – WildPhotos Producer
This is just a note to thank you for a professional and inspiration performance.
It was quite a feat to get up there in front of your peers and pull off a first-class presentation, but you did it, as I knew you would.
I hope you realised that you did a star turn.

“You think that accountants are boring? Well meet Daisy and think again. During her, well, spell-binding presentation at WildPhotos, she demonstrated that if you want to do something enough and you don’t get side-lined, you can do it. We know there are lots of brilliant polar photographers already but Daisy’s work just shines with empathy: these are pictures of friends, not just animals. I especially admired that she was willing to give up the material security that most people strive for so she could do something worthwhile and enduring with her life. I admire that hugely ; it is a much bigger step than many of us have to make when we commit to this life. And did I mention that her pictures are just b****y beautiful?”

Yesterday, in the train on my way back from London to Paris, I though of you! I was listening to my iphone and suddenly the song “La fille de l’iceberg” (the iceberg’s girl) de Ariane Moffat start playing. It’s you…you’re the iceberg’s girl. I saw your lovely pictures while listening to the song… Your presentation was very sweet and funny. Thanks and keep your enthusiasm and smile.

It was very nice to meet you at this year’s WildPhotos. Thank you for participating in our event and delivering an excellent presentation.
Initial delegate feedback looks highly complimentary, especially about the quality of imagery on show and the speaker’s presentations – so again, thank you. Many congrats once again on your image in the WPOY competition. Terrific stuff.
HEATHER STEPHENSON – photography student
Just a quickie to say it was great to see you at wildphotos and congratulate you on your presentation. Thought it was very well put together and the good fun start got everyone listening for the serious bit. You didn’t come over as nervous at all and your voice is silky like chocolate, in the big room everyone was mesmerized!

I loved Norbert’s take on calling you the Queen of the Artic as you are a star, I really liked your passion and the fact you left a high paid job to pursue your dream.

The rest of the day is spent at the Royal Geographical Society for the official rehearsal of the WildPhotos 09 conference. In the evening the speakers meet for dinner. It is so refreshing meeting old friends and making new ones!
Last time I met Angie Scott was onboard the Kapitan Khlebnikov in 2006.
Thank you Angie for helping me rehearse!

A very intense week in London is starting with the award ceremony at the Natural History Museum in London.
Each year the competition finds the very best wildlife images taken by the world’s top professional and amateur photographers. This year the contest received more than 43,000 entries from 94 countries. Roughly 100 images were awarded and I’m extremely honored to be part of this small group!
